Good morning Boys and Girls! So been busy with art group things and art things and doing things to the house so we can put it on the market things.  Have a few new pieces to share...

Here is the newest piece that I am really happy about.  It's for the Feverhead Alternative Valentine's Day Show.  Really sweet event.  Check out the event page here http://www.facebook.com/events/192946324133817/

The piece is based on a Lichtenstein comic piece and I thought that Frank and his bride went perfectly with the theme.  AND you all know how I feel about Frank in my art :)





And here is another Frank-a-licious piece.  Basically, it's a stenciled aerosol rectangle with a relief lino print over top in ink.  I tested out several colors and you can see them on my Flickr page...http://www.flickr.com/photos/donnaestep/

Woo Hoo, Printmaking!  I do enjoy doing something a little out of the ordinary from time to time, so I pulled out the linoleum to take part in an upcoming Printmaking show at CS Gallery in Olde Town East.  This is a lino print version of my painting Franken-Five and I think it came out pretty good.  This one is just a test with a stamp pad...I'll post the finished ones once I have them photographed.

And yes I am crazy and decided to do not one but TWO new lino block prints for this show.  This one is based on a patterned tessellation that I came up with.  Frankenstein alternated with flames.  I'm pretty sure this one is going to get some hand coloring on the finished product.

Well, Keep coming back!  I'm aiming at blogging about something new about once a week, as long as it isn't boring!  Peace!

YUMMY!ART!SHOW!

The Yummy Art Show is at Brother's Drake Meadery this weekend!  I and my friend, Tricia, both have pieces representing us and Cap City Creatives at this event!  Though hers are MUCH yummier than mine.  Wine = Yummy,right? And who doesn't love the great city of Columbus?lol
Be sure to stop  by Travonna Coffee House as well  on Saturday evening for the Artist Meet and Greet, I'll be stopping in and there are so many talented and amazing artists showing there as well!

New look and such

I've not been happy with the layout of this blog pretty much from the beginning and I kept putting it to the back burner.  Well no more!  and I think I actually like this one.

Since the last time I posted, I have sold a number of pieces during Urban Scrawl and Indpendent's Day.  I might even go for my own booth next year at Independent's Day since I did so well.  Make sure you check out my flickr to see some of the latest creations.  Here's a preview of one I did for the theme wall at Travonna Coffee House.

Agora 8 Show

Did the Agora 8 show at Junctionview Studios.  It was pretty awesome to see so many pieces of art from all types of artists coming together in one space.  Junctionview is amazing and if I had some extra bucks would love to have a studio there! Just working among all of those artists has to rub off some imspiration!  Here is a pic of the piece that I had in there!

Hilliard Logo Contest

Well...Didn't win the Logo contest...someone who has been doing graphic design for 20 years did...well duh!  Who can compete with that...sorry I'm kinda bitter!  It is a pretty cool design though I think it looks like it would be better advertising the Ohio State Fair...but who am I to judge....

This was my final design for the Hilliard Parks and Recreation Logo Contest. It's been over a month and a half and have yet to hear what the heck is going on with the contest. Haven't seen it anywhere in the Hilliard papers or on their website...starting to really tick me off. Hopefully if they decide on any more contests they advertise a date on which they are to pick the winner.

Gonna get back into the ATC's

All righty!!!  I'm gonna get back into doing ATC's, I have decided! Perhaps if I write it and say it over and over it will happen!!!  It's been the worst week I think that I have ever had.  My Mom almost died of Congestive heart failure and I spent many hours on the road going back and forth.  I worked all weekend.  My shoulders hurt like I have been beaten--from spring cleaning Mom's apartment for her,so she could come into a clean and more smoke free environment(she also found out she had one lung useless from Emphysema!) and poor Vienna goes to the Vet tomorrow to be fixed!  So... I need something to calm and soothe my soul and to keep me from jumping off of something!  So ATC's it will be!  I'll post them on Flickr when I get some done!!!

New layout

Have a new background...I loved the other on but It was super hard to see the background no matter what color I made the font so here it is....wwwwwommmmmmmmm...that's the sound my new blog background makes since it looks like it's radiating some sort of glorious lighty things

Okay No joking this time!

I'm gonna start creating again!  I've been in a crafting slump since the fall craft show that I did last year.  Some of the stuff I was doing was starting to become an unpaid part time job...mainly taking part in waaaaaay too many artist trading card swaps.  I think I'm gonna start making them again...but I'm gonna stick with only swapping one on one on FLICKR.  It's so much easier!  And now that I have my new computer everything should be so much easier and not take 12 years to modify photos and upload them!  Yay!  So...I'm gonna start bein' crafty again!  Watch out world!

Hmmm

So, I entirely blame this blog on my coworker, Blake...he got a blog...I read the blog...I want a blog...why?
I haven't the foggiest idea...But I figure...hey! I can use this to show off my crafty stuff and Artist Trading Cards and other random weird crap that I come across that I want to share with the universe...oh crap.
