There will also be an AMAZING show going on inside of  400 West Rich too that I have been helping put together!  THE AMAZING CAT SHOW! This is the second year for this show and 50% of all sales of art will be going back to Colony Cats plus there will be open studios that evening too! So please stop on by!  The studio will be open and I will be running around getting cat art into eager new collector's hands!

See you there!

Started working on a new website...

Hopefully within the next 30 days there will be a brand new website with a brand new all-my-own URL.  I'll make sure to post info here once I get it live and kicking!

There will also be some announcements about upcoming shows coming in August made very soon!

Until then...

Short North Tavern "Animating Principle"

I had a great time making art for my 4th show at Short North Tavern.  I titled the show "Animating Principle" because I feel that this show had a lot of soul interjected into it, both my own and the essence of the characters and persons that I was able to portray in my art.  I feel like my style continues to grow and I'm able to pour more and more of myself into the pieces.  I'm hoping to continue this new style into an upcoming show at St James Tavern...info to be announced shortly!

Springtime Renewal and Landmarks

With the temperatures rising, hopefully will be my creative spirit.  It's been a long winter for the creative process, but Spring is coming :)

The Creative Arts of Women just opened a show as The Fort Hayes Shot Tower, entitled Landmark.  I showed a sneak peek of one of the pieces, but wanted to show off the entire series.  Overall I think I am happy with the way that it turned out.

Making a Mark

I'm gearing up for a busy year and have been hard at work on some pieces for the Creative Arts of Women Show at Fort Hayes Shot Tower.  This show is entitled Landmark and I've taken my inspiration from childhood landmarks...things that made me know that I was home.

I haven't titled this piece yet, but this is an adaptation of a photograph by Kevin W. Jerrell that makes me think back to those days of being small and riding my bicycle around the small town where we lived.

My Last Solo Show of 2015

The end of the year is closing in and my last solo show of 2015 will be hosted by Rehab Tavern in the heart of East Franklinton.  I'm super proud to call this area my second home with my studio right at 400 West Rich Street.

Where Everyone Knows Your Name is the title of this show and it highlights(in the same vein as my other shows this year) movie characters and icons that I find particularly interesting.

Take a look at a couple of the pieces that I have for this show.  The Opening will be during Franklinton Friday this Friday, December 11th from 7-11pm.  I'll have some exclusive digital prints for sale that night too.  Something like me, a bit off kilter ;)

October Shows

October has been super duper busy!  There is still a couple of weeks to catch my shows at Big Fun Columbus and St James Tavern!!  Here's a little sneak preview and if you find yourself interested in a piece for the holidays, I also take commissions!

St. James Tavern

A few of these have sold, but there are many good ones left for YOU!

Short North Tavern Remnants

Anyone who missed my show at Short North Tavern...the remaining pieces are at Short North Coffee House!  Please stop by, grab a coffee and check out my corner!

Familiar Faces and Remnants and Short North Tavern Oh MY!

This has been a super busy month and the train is not going to be slowing down any time soon!  The solo show "Familiar Faces" opened on Friday, May 8th and it was very successful.  Talked to a lot of folks and hopefully made some new contacts.  This show will be up for one more open studio and Farmer's Market on May 23rd from 11am-2pm.  This will be the last chance to see all of these pieces together before they are scattered around at different venues around town!

Next up will be the Creative Arts of Women "Remnants" Show at the Ohio State Urban Art Space. Show dates are  May 26th thru July 11th with the opening on May 30th 6-8pm.  Here is a little teaser since its an all new medium for me...wall installed mixed media installation.

And certainly not last or least

Come check out my show at Short North Tavern on June 6th at Gallery Hop!

It will be a surprise what you will see!!!!

Spring is in the Air!

So excited for the springtime and all of the possibility. I am taking part in a show with the Creative Art of Women and have been hard at work pulling out something different and very emotional.  My art is usually "just for fun"...but we'll see where this all takes me.  Here is a little taste.  This part is still in process but I'm feeling ok about where it is going.  This is the playhouse that my father built for me when I was little.  It was a childhood treasure to me and I spent many seasons inside.

New Year, New Art!

I've been hard at work already this year and have put to bed about 13 new pieces of art.  Here is a little taste of what I have been doing.  Some of my hard work can be seen at Max the Salon right downtown in the Short North.

End of Year Cleaning!

Cleaning out some of the things that have been cluttering up the studio! These items are reduced to move!  Looking for Christmas presents?  Contact me!  donnaestep@rocketmail.com

October Show at Big Fun Columbus

Come on out for Gallery Hop this Saturday to check out lots of great art and to see what I've been up to!  I will be showing for the entire month and you won't be disappointed with the trip!  Big Fun is an amazing place that you just have to experience for yourself!
